BRIDGE BUILDER'S CLUB

THE BRIDGE BUILDER'S INVESTMENT CLUB

The Bridge Builder Club is a program where financial mentors partner with the Current Youth Ministry monthly to teach the youth ages 6th through 12th grade about finance and investing. The mentors will interact with the youth during the Thursday night youth group once a month.

  • When: Every 3rd Thursday during CURRENT.
    • Starting January 19, 2023
    • 5:30pm – 7:30pm
  • Where: 455 SE Golf Park Blvd, Topeka, KS 66605

The youth will learn finance basics, the DRIP method and using ETFs, and growth investing. The youth will start with a nest egg of $5,000. After learning the basics of finance and investing, the youth will get to help direct the investment of their nest egg. Each quarter they will get to make adjustments to their strategy with the approval of their coaching. At the end of their 12th-grade year, the students will split a specified amount of their proceeds above the next egg that they have earned. The money would go towards scholarships to college and tech schools for students taking those next steps. Students entering the workforce directly after high school graduation would have an investment account of their own created.

Fellowship Hi-Crest is taking a long-term approach where the hope is to interact with youth twelve times each year for six years. The hope is that instead of helping students climb out of debt, we teach them how to build personal wealth that prevents them from entering debt. While many of us know the joy of overcoming debt to build positive personal net worth, our hope is to build a bridge where the youth who follow us won’t have to traverse the same obstacles as we did but can learn from our journeys.
