Covid-19 Rapid Testing Clinic
Right now, many of us are experiencing the effects of COVID-19 moving through our community. One of the impacts that our community is dealing with during this time is the difficulty in finding adequate testing.
After meeting with the Shawnee County Health Department to dialogue around this need in our community, they responded by offering us the opportunity to pilot a new testing program.
Rapid OTC COVID-19 tests are one of many risk-reduction measures, along with vaccination, masking, and social distancing, that protects you, your family, and your community by reducing the chances of spreading SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
Beginning tomorrow, January 25th, we will partner with the Shawnee County Health Department to offer FREE COVID-19 Rapid-PCR tests by appointment to the community.
These tests are self-administered lower nasal swabs and can be done regardless of vaccination status or whether or not you have symptoms. The Health Department encourages individuals to consider using an OTC rapid test before joining gatherings with individuals outside their immediate household.
We are currently scheduling appointments for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday the week of 01/24/2022, between 10am – 2pm. Please visit https://bit.ly/Test4Covid to sign up for your slot today! #KnowBeforeYouGo
We need two volunteers to help at each clinic shift to check in our guests, provide them with the test, and communicate when the results are complete. The volunteers will not be administering the tests. The guests at the clinic will administer their own tests. The results come through the digital reader and app that are located on-site. Once the results are complete, we provide those to the guests, and they may leave.
Those desiring to walk beside our community through this trying season can use the following form to register for a shift. https://bit.ly/Volunteer4Clinic
